Podcast Expirences

So for this weeks assingments we had to create and submit 3 podcasts and honestly it was super easy for me because it was just me rambling for 2 minutes a piece, which honestly almost wasn't enough time. I found myself speaking pretty quick and basically removing details from what I wanted to say to keep it short and not a 30 minute thing for each of them. I could definitely see how some may struggle with this if they can't think of a topic to talk about, but the way I saw it was to just speak on the first thing that came to mind. Like what you do during your day, your favorite restaurant and why, there are truly billions of topics to choose from and to ramble about.  I could definitely see myself taking podcasts a little more serious with a couple of friends down the line when we are more successful to share stories and even tips n tricks of how to get to a place you want to be. I think podcasts are a great way to help people learn from stories, whether you use audio only or w...

How Travel Changed How We Think About Death (Random Generator)

Image
So the random topic generator made the question "How travel changed how we think about death" and honestly its a simple question while being a fairly deep question that requires you to kind of think back and appreciate everything. To start off, I used to really not traveling as a kid as well as didn't even like traveling to Greece, I wanted to stay in my house and quite honestly do nothing. That changed very quickly. I traveled alone the winter of 2024 for the first time completely alone, meeting with friends in Greece, and this trip changed everything. I then only want to travel with friends because it so stressless, whereas with parents, it's always a rush and just a stressful environment which goes against obvious vacation rules.  That being said, I've adapted a "Screw it" mindset, I'm living on this Earth only 1 time, I'm 21 only one time, if I can do it, I'm going to do it and pray God takes care of the rest. Through travel I've lea...

Thoughts on blogging

So being roughly 2 weeks into blogging now, I thought I'd share my thoughts on how its been going. So to start off, I personally never thought of myself as a writer, but this has kind of changed my mind on that, I think I'm not too bad of a writer. Blogging as a whole though, not too big of a fan of it unless there is a specific topic to write about like a specific memory or something like that. It's not that I don't like it but rather a little strange, but I do enjoy the challenge aspect of it because obviously its always good to challenge yourself not only physically but also mentally.  As time went on I thought maybe I would change my mind on whether or not I would continue to do these little blogs in my free time, definitely wouldn't. I don't really gain anything and in my opinion outside of this being required work for class and kind of being "forced" to do it, I personally wouldn't do it. I find talking to a friend or family member would be ...

This Week's Blog

This week in Greece, as in many other places is Holy Week, and similar to many other countries, Greece is a very religious country. That being said everyone is going to church everyday with their families, going out to eat, and overall just simply enjoying quality family time with each other. Majority of business's like clothing stores are closed during this week up until next Tuesday so that everyone can take a break from work and really focus on the religious aspects of the week, which can make it a little boring with nothing to do.  That being said a lot of people also fast for Easter as it is tradition in the Orthodox religion that you don't eat certain things like meat or dairy for 40 days until Easter Sunday, which is extremely tough. Overall though it's nice seeing everyone spend time with family and going to church because it's pretty rare to see this in the U.S. for a lot of people due to the shift in culture that has recently taken place.

New to blogging

Blogging as a whole seems identical to a journal for some, but the only difference is the fact that everyone can read your journal. I personally never journaled before, nor did I ever really have any interest in doing so. So far these blogs have been cool in a way that I can kind of write whatever I really want about whatever. I think doing this could even help some people with their own writing issues if they felt they lacked in that category. I was never a big writing, or reader, but I'd definitely rather write than read a book. I do enjoy being able to share my thoughts and see if other's potentially agree with them.

My Recent Travel

Image
Since January 1st, I've traveled to Greece 3 times now, and this time arguably being the best one, as they tend to get only better and better. The first trip was about a week and a half, the second trip was about 5 days, and third trip being right now, has a open return date, but I've been here about two and a half weeks. Emirates always does a fantastic job with the flights and the organization of their flights, which makes the actual travel aspect always smooth and effortless. Many people ask me, why do you always go back to Greece and don't travel to other places? I simply respond to them with, "There's simply no better place than Greece". Winter time it's best to stay near Athens as that's where everything happens, I stayed in a city called Glyfada which is a 10 minute from from the center of Athens, and of course summer time is when you can island hop to Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, or something more lowkey like Kefalonia but even in the summer, no...

Traveling

After many trips to and from the airport, I've come to realize a couple things. Firstly, the excitement you have going to the airport to board your flight is something that is unmatched, but similarly the dark/upsetting feeling you have of coming back from that place you traveled and going home is also unmatched. It's that mix of sure I'm excited to be back but why did I have to leave. Travel can be something that is stressful for one person and where another person finds their peace. Personally, I find peace in strolling around the airport waiting for my flight to board, essentially not having a worry in the world, listening to music/ watching a tv show and enjoying myself. On the other hand some people stress out and worry their entire time, worrying about if their flight is delayed or something, something that doesn't really matter. For me, there's nothing better than being in the airport waiting for your travel to start, where you kind of excite yourself of all...
