This Week's Blog

 This week in Greece, as in many other places is Holy Week, and similar to many other countries, Greece is a very religious country. That being said everyone is going to church everyday with their families, going out to eat, and overall just simply enjoying quality family time with each other. Majority of business's like clothing stores are closed during this week up until next Tuesday so that everyone can take a break from work and really focus on the religious aspects of the week, which can make it a little boring with nothing to do. 

That being said a lot of people also fast for Easter as it is tradition in the Orthodox religion that you don't eat certain things like meat or dairy for 40 days until Easter Sunday, which is extremely tough. Overall though it's nice seeing everyone spend time with family and going to church because it's pretty rare to see this in the U.S. for a lot of people due to the shift in culture that has recently taken place.

 Since January 1st, I've traveled to Greece 3 times now, and this time arguably being the best one, as they tend to get only better and better. The first trip was about a week and a half, the second trip was about 5 days, and third trip being right now, has a open return date, but I've been here about two and a half weeks. Emirates always does a fantastic job with the flights and the organization of their flights, which makes the actual travel aspect always smooth and effortless. Many people ask me, why do you always go back to Greece and don't travel to other places? I simply respond to them with, "There's simply no better place than Greece".
